Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
