Seest thou one who turns back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 while you make merry? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
