The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 Those who set up another god with Allah; so they shall soon know. 96 And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say. 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
