The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
A doubter once demanded that punishment be immediately meted out, 1 for the unbelievers, which none may avert, 2 From Allah, the Lord of the ways of ascent. 3 all the angels and all the inspiration [ever granted to man] ascend unto Him [daily,] in a day the length whereof is [like] fifty thousand years… 4 Therefore, [O believer,] endure all adversity with goodly patience: 5 They deem it to be remote. 6 Whereas We see it impending. 7 [It will take place] on a Day when the sky will be like molten lead, 8 The mountains like the tufts of (carded) wool, 9 And no friend will ask concerning his friend. 10 Though they will be given sight of them. The guilty man will long to be able to ransom himself from the punishment of that day at the price of his children 11 his companion (wife), his brother, 12 And his nearest kindred who shelter him 13 And all those who are on the earth, to save himself. 14 By no means! It will be the fierce flame 15 will strip-off the flesh 16 and drag into it anyone who has turned away (from obeying God), 17 who amassed and hoarded. 18 ۞ Surely man was created fretful, 19 Being greatly grieved when evil afflicts him 20 but when they are fortunate, they become niggardly 21 Except those who pray, 22 and continue at their prayers, 23 And in whose wealth there is a right acknowledged 24 to those who ask [for help] and to the destitute; 25 and who accept as true the [coming of the] Day of Judgment; 26 and go in fear of the chastisement of their Lord 27 Verily! The torment of their Lord is that before which none can feel secure, 28 And those who of their private parts are guards. 29 Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (then) they are not to be blamed, 30 (but whoso seeks after more than that, they are the transgressors), 31 and those who fulfil their trusts and their covenants, 32 and standby their witnessing, 33 And those who of their prayer are observant. 34 It is these who will be honoured in Gardens. 35

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
