The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 Who guard their sex 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
