In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 [But,] verily, they who have attained to faith and do good works shall have a reward unending! 8
