Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 By oath of the clear Qur’an. 2 We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). 3 Truly, it is inscribed in the Original Book, in Our keeping; it is sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 (It is) He who made the earth to be a cradle for you and made in it ways for you, in order that you are guided. 10 Who sent down water in due measure from the sky, then quickened a region that was dead -- So shall We bring you forth -- 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)." 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
