Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom and who has power over all things. 1 It is He who has created death and life to put you to the test and see which of you is most virtuous in your deeds. He is Majestic and All-forgiving. 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim. 4 And indeed We have beautified the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them weapons against the devils, and have kept prepared for them the punishment of the blazing fire. 5 The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! 6 When they are cast into it they will hear it sighing, the while it boils 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire. 10 So now they admit their sins! Therefore accursed be the people of hell! 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts. 13 Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
