Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 and the severally severing 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known extent. 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 The living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
