A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This is a Book revealed to you. Let there be no impediment in your heart about it. (It has been revealed to you) that you may thereby warn [the unbelievers], that it may be a reminder to the believers. 2 [Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember! 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 and they but cried, when Our might came upon there, 'We were evildoers.'; 5 (On the Day of Reckoning) We shall question the people to whom We had sent Our apostles, (if they followed their teachings), and will question the apostles. 6 Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. 7 The weighing on that Day will be the true weighing: those whose scales are heavy will prosper. 8 As for those whose bad deeds weigh heavier, they will lose their souls for their injustice to Our revelations. 9 And certainly We have established you in the earth and made in it means of livelihood for you; little it is that you give thanks. 10
