(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
