Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
