The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 On a Great Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A written record, 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On thrones, watching. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
