Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 a warning to humans, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 "And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly." 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until death approached us". 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. The disbelievers will not have any intercessor. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
