The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
