Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things, 1 Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; 2 He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw? 3 Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the chastisement of Gehenna -- an evil homecoming! 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear it roar and raging 7 nearly bursting apart out of rage. Every time a host is cast therein, its keepers will ask them: 'Did no one come to warn you' 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 And they will add: "Had we but listened [to those warnings,] or [at least] used our own reason, we would not [now] be among those who are destined for the blazing flame!" 10 Thus will they come to realize their sins: but [by that time,] remote will have become all good from those who are destined for the blazing flame. 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 And whether you speak softly or proclaim it aloud; He indeed knows what lies within the hearts! 13 Should He not know,- He that created? and He is the One that understands the finest mysteries (and) is well-acquainted (with them). 14
