The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
