Hizb 53

Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said, 'Be not afraid!' And they gave him good tidings of a cunning boy. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
