The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
