Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
