Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
