The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
