The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the Mount; 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 in an exposed parchment 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 and the uplifted roof 5 and by the swelling sea, 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 none can avert that. 8 On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Surely the God-fearing shall be in Gardens and bliss, 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 The God-fearing shall be reclining on couches facing each other, and We shall wed them to maidens with large, beautiful eyes. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. 22 and in that [paradise] they shall pass on to one another a cup which will not give rise to empty talk, and neither incite to sin. 23 ۞ and there go round them youths, their own, as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. 25 "Before this, when we were among our families, we were full of fear of God's displeasure -- 26 "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. 27 Verily, we did invoke Him [alone] ere this: [and now He has shown us] that He alone is truly benign, a true dispenser of grace!" 28
