The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
