Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ SAY: "It has been revealed to me that some of the unseen beings gave ear [to this divine writ,] and thereupon said [unto their fellow-beings]: "'Verily, we have heard a wondrous discourse, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; 14 but those who are wrongdoers will become the fuel of Hell." 15 (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. 16 so that We might try them through this bounty. Whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to suffer a grievous chastisement; 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19
