The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
