And if they deny thee, say: Unto me my work, and unto you your work. Ye are innocent of what I do, and I am innocent of what ye do. 41 And among them are those who listen to you. But can you cause the deaf to hear, although they will not use reason? 42 Some of them look toward you: But can you show the blind the way even when they cannot see? 43 Surely God does not wrong anyone; they wrong themselves. 44 And on the Day when He shall gather them [unto Himself, it will seem to them] as if they had not tarried [on earth] longer than an hour of a day, knowing one another; [and] lost indeed will be they who [in their lifetime] considered it a lie that they were destined to meet God, and [thus] failed to find the right way. 45 Whether We show thee a part of that We promise them, or We call thee unto Us, to Us they shall return; then God is witness of the things they do 46 A Messenger is sent to every people; and when their Messenger comes, the fate of that people is decided with full justice; they are subjected to no wrong. 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 Say, “I have no autonomy to benefit or hurt myself, except what Allah wills*; for every nation is a fixed promise; when their promise comes, they cannot postpone it nor can they advance it one moment. (* To empower me.) 49 Say, "Have you considered: if His punishment should come to you by night or by day - for which [aspect] of it would the criminals be impatient?" 50 "Would ye then believe in it at last, when it actually cometh to pass? (It will then be said): 'Ah! now? and ye wanted (aforetime) to hasten it on!' 51 Then it will be said to those who had wronged, "Taste the punishment of eternity; are you being recompensed except for what you used to earn?" 52 And they ask you: Is that true? Say: Aye! by my Lord! it is most surely the truth, and you will not escape. 53
