And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 "Go swiftly to the spring," (We said). "This cold water is for bathing and for drinking." 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision. 45 for, verily, We purified them by means of a thought most pure: the remembrance of the life to come. 46 Indeed with Us they are among the chosen, the excellent. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu al-Kifl. All were of the best. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them, 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ And with them will be women limiting [their] glances and of equal age. 52 All this is what you are promised for the Day of Judgement. 53 Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion. 54 This (shall be so); and most surely there is an evil resort for the inordinate ones; 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 All this (is for them); so let them taste boiling water and pus, 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 “Here is another group that was with you, falling along with you”; they will answer, “Do not give them plenty of open space; they surely have to enter the fire – let them also be confined!” 59 [And] they [who had been seduced] will exclaim: "Nay, but it is you! No welcome to you! It is you who have prepared this for us: and how vile a state to abide in!" 60 They will say: our Lord! whosever hath brought this upon us, unto him increase doubly the torment of the Fire. 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 “Did we mock at them or did our eyes turn away from them?” 63 Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire. 64
