And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much. 30 you cannot escape Him anywhere on earth. You have no protector or helper other than God. 31 And among His signs are the ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas: 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much - 34 And that those who argue concerning Our revelations may know they have no refuge. 35 Whatever you have been given is only a temporary provision of this life, but that which is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord; 36 And those who avoid the greater sins, and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.), and when they are angry, they forgive 37 And those who have responded to their lord and established prayer and whose affair is [determined by] consultation among themselves, and from what We have provided them, they spend. 38 and when harmed they become victorious. 39 The recompense of evil is evil the like of it. But he who forgives and makes amends, his reward lies with Allah. Surely He does not love the wrong-doers. 40 There is no blame against him who avenges himself after he has been wronged. 41 The way of blame is only against those who wrong mankind, and rebel in the earth without justice; these! for them is a torment afflictive. 42 But withal, if one is patient in adversity and forgives - this, behold, is indeed something to set one's heart upon! 43
