Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). 3 It (the Quran) exists in the original Book with Us which is certainly Most Exalted, full of wisdom and (beyond linguistic structures). 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 Wherefore We destroyed peoples mightier than these in prowess; and there hath gone forth the example of the ancients. 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 And Who sendeth down from the heaven water in measure; then We quicken a dead land therewith: even so ye shall be brought forth. 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 So that you may properly mount their backs, and may remember your Lord’s favour when you have mounted them, and say, “Purity is to Him, Who has given this ride in our control, and we did not have the strength for it.” 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
