The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
