Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sun and its midmorning, 1 And the moon as she follows in his wake, 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 The night when it covers him over, 4 By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure; 5 And the earth and Him Who extended it, 6 Consider the human self, and how it is formed in accordance with what it is meant to be, 7 And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness, 8 He who purifies it will prosper, 9 and failed is he who buried it! 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 When the basest of them broke forth 12 But the Messenger of Allah [Salih (Saleh)] said to them: "Be cautious! Fear the evil end. That is the she-camel of Allah! (Do not harm it) and bar it not from having its drink!" 13 Then they rejected him (as a false prophet), and they hamstrung her. So their Lord, on account of their crime, obliterated their traces and made them equal (in destruction, high and low)! 14 And He does not fear its coming behind (to take vengeance). 15
