And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 He said: By no means, so go you both with Our signs; surely We are with you, hearing; 15 They came to the Pharaoh and said, "We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Universe. 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 Moses replied, "I did that when I was one of the misguided, 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves. 22 Pharaoh said: "And who is this Lord of the Universe?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 Moses said: "Even if I were to bring a Clear Sign to you?" 30 Said Firaun, “Then bring it, if you are of the truthful.” 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
