Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 And not known my account! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
