The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the Glorious Morning Light, 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased with you, 3 Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by. 4 And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied. 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find you wandering, and give you guidance? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11
