Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha'. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 And verily, [originating as it does] in the source, with Us, of all revelation, it is indeed sublime, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk? 5 And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old. 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 (It is) He who made the earth to be a cradle for you and made in it ways for you, in order that you are guided. 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 And lo! unto our Lord we surely are returning. 14 Yet they have assigned to Him a part of His own servants! Man is dearly unthankful. 15
