NAY, but consider the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning for people -- 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
