Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
