Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
