O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them in their confusion for a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 And those who believe in the signs of their Lord – 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things, 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 Implore not today; verily ye from Us are not to be succoured. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 Stiff-necked, discoursing thereof by night, reviling. 67 Pondered they not over the Word? or came there unto them that which came not unto their fathers ancient? 68 Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger (Muhammad SAW) so they deny him? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers. 72 (Muhammad), you certainly have called them to the right path, 73 and surely they that believe not in the world to come are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 until We open before them a gate of [truly] severe suffering [in the life to come]: and then, lo! they will be broken in spirit. 77
