Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
