The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
