He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 So you are after him! 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 and in awe of God 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 noble and pious. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 How We pour water in showers 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 but others will be gloomy 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
