The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High, 1 who creates [every thing,] and thereupon forms it in accordance with what it is meant to be, 2 decreed their destinies, and provided them with guidance. 3 And Who brings out the pasturage, 4 and then made it into a blackish straw. 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 except what Allah should wish. He knows all that is manifest and all that is hidden. 7 And We will make your way smooth to a state of ease. 8 Wherefore admonish thou; admonition hath surely profited, 9 Admonished is he indeed who feareth, 10 And the wretched shunneth it. 11 Who will enter the Great Fire, 12 wherein he will neither die nor remain alive. 13 He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself, 14 And mentions the name of his Lord and prays. 15 However, (the disbelievers) prefer the worldly life 16 Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 Verily, [all] this has indeed been [said] in the earlier revelations 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
