Al-Haaqqah 2 of 2
But nay! I swear by that which you see, 38 And by whatsoever you see not, 39 Behold, this [Qur'an] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 40 It is not the speech of a poet (little do you believe) 41 Nor is it the word of a soothsayer. Little is it that you reflect! 42 (It is) a sending down from the Lord of all the Worlds. 43 And if the messenger were to invent any sayings in Our name, 44 We would indeed have seized him by his right hand 45 Then We would have cut from him the aorta. 46 And not one of you would have been able to stop (Us). 47 The Quran is certainly a reminder for the pious ones. 48 We know very well that there are some among you who reject Our signs -- 49 yet, behold, this [rejection] will indeed become a source of bitter regret for all who deny the truth [of God's revelation] 50 This is the Truth beyond any doubt. 51 Exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 52

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
