Do you not see that We have set the devils against the infidels to rouse and instigate them? 83 So hasten thou not against them; We are only numbering for them a number. 84 On the Day whereon We shall gather the God-feaing unto the Compassionate as an embassy. 85 and We shall drive the guilty ones to Hell as a thirsty herd. 86 They shall not control intercession, save he who has made a covenant with the Beneficent Allah. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 Assuredly, you have uttered a monstrous falsehood: 89 Which would cleave the skies asunder, rend the earth, and split the mountains, 90 at their ascribing a son to the Most Compassionate Lord. 91 It does not befit the Most Compassionate Lord that He should take a son. 92 Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to (Allah) Most Gracious as a servant. 93 He has indeed counted them, and He has numbered them exactly. 94 each one of them shall come to Him one by one on the Day of Judgement. 95 Verily those who believe and do righteous works - anon the Compassionate shall appoint for them affection. 96 So, [O Muhammad], We have only made Qur'an easy in the Arabic language that you may give good tidings thereby to the righteous and warn thereby a hostile people. 97 How many generations have We destroyed before them! Do you sense even one of them, or hear a whisper from them? 98
