Al-Dukhaan 3 of 3
Lo! the tree of Zaqqum, 43 Food of the sinner. 44 like molten copper, bubbling in the belly 45 as boiling water bubbles. 46 [And the word will be spoken:] "Seize him, [O you forces of hell,] and drag him into the midst of the blazing fire: 47 Then pour above his head of the torment of the boiling water: 48 Saying “Taste it! Indeed you only are the most honourable, the dignified!” 49 This is the very thing which you [deniers of the truth] were wont to call in question!" 50 Surely those who fear and follow the straight path will be in a place of peace and security 51 amid gardens and springs, 52 They shall wear of fine and thick silk, (sitting) face to face; 53 Even so; and We shall espouse them to wide-eyed houris, 54 There in security, they will call for every kind of fruit. 55 They shall not taste therein of death, save the first death, And He shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell -- 56 As a Bounty from thy Lord! that will be the supreme achievement! 57 Therefore We have made this (Qur'an) easy in your tongue. They may haply take a warning. 58 So you wait. They are also waiting. 59

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
