Aaron had already, before this said to them: "O my people! ye are being tested in this: for verily your Lord is (Allah) Most Gracious; so follow me and obey my command." 90 They said: We will by no means cease to keep to its worship until Musa returns to us. 91 But (Moses) said: "O Aaron, when you saw that they had gone astray, what hindered you 92 from following my way? Have you disobeyed my command?" 93 He said, “O son of my mother, do not clutch my beard nor the hair on my head; I feared that you may say, ‘You have caused a division among the Descendants of Israel and did not wait for my advice.’” 94 Said Moosa, “And what is your explanation, O Samri?” 95 He said, "I perceived what they did not see. So I took a handful [of dust] from the footprint of the Messenger and threw it in [the calf]. That is what my inner self prompted me to do." 96 He said: Begone then, surely for you it will be in this life to say, Touch (me) not; and surely there is a threat for you, which shall not be made to fail to you, and look at your god to whose worship you kept (so long); we will certainly burn it, then we will certainly scatter it a (wide) scattering in the sea. 97 Your God is only One, Allah. There is no god, except He, alone. His knowledge encompasses all things. 98 Thus, [O Muhammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us the Qur'an. 99 Whoever turns away from it will surely carry a burden on the Day of Judgement, 100 [Abiding] eternally therein, and evil it is for them on the Day of Resurrection as a load - 101 On the day when the trumpet will be sounded We will raise the criminals from their graves and their eyes will be turned blue and blind. 102 and they shall murmur among themselves: 'You have stayed away but ten (days and nights)' 103 We know well what they will say to one another: We also know that even the most cautious in his estimate will say: "You lived in the world no more than a day." 104
