The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The All-merciful 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
