Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
